“We will extend our support and participate in the strike called by All India Petroleum Dealer’s Federation and the Karnataka State Federation of Petroleum Dealers,” said President of Mysuru Petroleum Federation, Shashikala Nagaraj.
Addressing a press meet in the city on Thursday, Shashikala said: “Even after several pleas to the concerned authorities to bring a permanent solution to the demands of the petroleum dealers in the country, the issues have not been addressed. In response to the call taken by the AIPDF, we will support the strike.”
Member of the association, S R Patil said: “As part of first phase of agitation, we had stopped supply of petrol to consumers on October 19. We will repeat the same on October 26 by shutting down for 15 minutes from 7:00 pm to 7:15 pm. If the authorities don’t take immediate action, we will stop purchase of petroleum products from oil marketing companies and will stop sale to consumers from November 15.”
