Mysuru, October 13:- “Innovate or Perish” is a statement which is highly relevant in the present scenario. The competition for jobs is getting stiffer day by day in lieu of presence of more than 3,000 engineering colleges across the country – producing more than 15 lakh engineers every year. The employers are looking for potential employees who can ‘Think Out of the Box’ and contribute towards ‘Exponential growth of the organisation.’ This requires a different mindset all together. Developing this mindset not only helps the student to develop a successful career for themselves, but also help them to contemplate about launching their own start-up. GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW) acknowledges this fact and has been putting its sincere efforts to promote innovation culture among its students through various initiatives. One such initiative was a “Webinar on “Importance of developing innovation mindset” organised by the institution for third semester students recently. The speaker for the session was Yeshaswi Nag, Mentor at Atal Incubation Centre, JITF.
The session was held for two hours duration with inputs regarding the significance of developing innovation mindset, how to develop the innovation mindset, important requirements of an innovative product / idea, innovation process.
210 students of third semester attended the session. The session was coordinated by Dr Padmashree of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and Dr Raviraj P of the institution’s innovation cell of GSSSIETW, stated a press release from Mahanthesh U, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
