Open discussion sought on Sadashiva committee report

Mysuru, January 29:- Karnataka Meesalati Samrakshana Okkoota will lay siege to the office of the District In-charge Minister, Dr H C Mahadevappa at CADA office at 11 am today (January 29), condemning the state government’s decision to implement justice Sadashiva committee report without public discussion.

“Though Bhovi, Lambani, Korcha, Korma castes are backward in all areas, the committee stressed upon removing the SC tag on these communities. We had hoped that the report will give justice to all backward communities, which is untrue,” said social worker Krishna Nayaka at a press meet here on Saturday.

“Removing these castes from SC tag is unconstitutional. A public discussion should be held before implementing the report. Minister Anjaneya who should be the minister for the state acts as a minister for a certain community. The state government or high court or Supreme Court has no right to add or remove castes from the list,” he added.

G Nagaraj, Mohanraj Kuluva, T K Gopal, Basavaraj, Krishna Shetty, and others were present. (MR/KMR).
