Opposition parties should speak up about Land Reforms Act amendment: Badagalapura Nagendra

Mysuru, June 19:- President of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene Badagalapura Nagendra urged Opposition parties to speak about Land Reforms Act amendment.

He was speaking at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Friday.

“Though BJP government has uprooted the Land Reforms Act of D Devaraja Urs, KPCC president D K Shivakumar has remained silent over this. He has not expressed his opposition to this amendment. Though Opposition party leader Siddaramaiah has opposed the amendment, he has not prepared for any movement against this. Former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, his children H D Kumaraswamy and H D Revanna too have not uttered a word. State president of JD(S) too didn’t bother to speak. We suspect that the ruling and Opposition parties might have joined together for this amendment. Opposition parties should immediately make the public know their opinion,” he urged.

“We will stage protests in front of MLAs and all district in-charge ministers’ home from June 21 to 24 for half an hour and submit a request letter,” he said.

“We will organise a webinar on June 20 to create awareness among the public regarding the problems caused by the amendment to APMC Act, Land Reforms Act, Essential Goods Act and privatisation of power DISComs. The webinar will be organised by Akhila Bharata Raitha Sangharsha Samanvaya Samiti,” he added.

Ashwatha Narayana Raje Urs, Hosur Kumar, Hosakote Basavaraj, Netravati, Chandregowda and others were present. (MR/KS).
