Mysuru, December 5:- Various organisations held a meeting in the city on Wednesday, opposing the proposed pay and park facility being planned by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC).
“Mysuru city is growing and vehicle density is also increasing. Several schemes of the government are affecting the public. Now MCC is planning to impose pay and park on the public. Tenders were called on October 7, 2016, February 2, 2017, April 14, May 12 and June 23. But none of the tender holders came forward. The then Mayor said that it is being discussed and not finalised,” said Aravinda Sharma of Samagra Karnataka Rakshana Vedike.
“Even now, people are opposing the new initiative. MCC has said that if no tender holders come forward, it would handle it on its own. If MCC doesn’t drop this idea, we will resort to intense protests,” he warned.
All the members unanimously agreed to oppose the proposed ‘pay and park’ system in the city.
