Organs of brain-dead man donated

Mysuru, February 11:- Family of a youth, who was declared brain-dead after he met with an accident, has decided to donate his organs.

Madan Raj (22), a youth from Periyapattana, met with an accident near Koppa of Kushalnagar in Kodagu district and was unconscious. He was immediately taken to BGS Apollo Hospital in Mysuru. He was kept under observation for 24 hours. But his brain had stopped functioning. His family members agreed to donate his organs. Accordingly, his liver and one kidney were donated to BGS Apollo Hospital, Mysuru; heart to Narayana Multi-Speciality Hospital in Bengaluru. Details of the donation of another kidney are undisclosed.
