Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church on Lingambudhi Road was consecrated and blessed by Rev Dr Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Bishop of Mysuru Diocese, on Monday.
The church has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore by the Catholic Diocese of Mysuru, donations received from the parishioners and philanthropists. The Bishop also felicitated he donors.
The new church will facilitate devotees residing at Vivekanandanagar, Ramakrishnanagar, Lingambudhipalya, Srirampura, Dattagalli, BEML Layout, Kuvempunagar and surrounding areas, to attend masses.
MLAs G T Devegowda, M K Somashekar, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mysuru Dr N S Marie Joseph, Fr Raymond, parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Fr Dennis Noronha, Fr Louis Noronha, Fr Desmond, Fr Sebastian, Fr Patrick, Fr K A William, secretary of MDES, Fr Marie Raj of St Joseph’s Hospital and others were present.
Rev Dr Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Mysuru, is seen offering prayers after consecrating the newly conctructed Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church at Srirampura in city on Monday. He was assisted by other priests during the Mass.
