Mysuru, June 2:- “Local bodies are finding it difficult to maintain the outer ring road in the city and it will be handed over to the national highway authority,” said district in-Charge minister Dr H C Mahadevappa.
He was speaking at a press meet here in the city on Friday.
“The outer ring road is 41.53 km long. Central government has given Rs 15635.89 lakh, state government Rs 4076.08 lakh and the MUDA has given Rs 13508.03 lakh for the road,” he said.
“The road has to be maintained at this level for the use of the public. MUDA is an organisation to develop the infrastructure and it doesn’t maintain the roads there after and hands it over to MCC. It meets the national highway at 6 places and it will be easier for the national highway authority to maintain the ring road. They have accepted the proposal and the road will be handed over soon,” he added.
MUDA President Dhruvakumar, MP Pratap Simha, DC D Randeep, MUDA Commissioner Dr M Mahesh and others were present. (BM)
