Mysuru, August 3:- Thousands of people have died on account of coronavirus in the last one year or so. But no lessons have been learnt. Also, there is the imminent threat of the third wave of the pandemic but who cares. If the number of devotees at the Chamundi Hills on Tuesday (August 3) is any indication, be prepared for the worst.
With the district authorities relaxing the curfew, thousands of devotees made their way to the Chamundeshwari Temple atop the hill without bothering about the Covid guidelines.
The district administration and the police department should have anticipated the rush of devotees, but there was none to monitor the situation. Devotees were seen moving around the way they wanted. It is definitely a clear violation on the part of the administration for not taking strict measures.
With the carpet ban on the entry on Ashada Shukravara, the devotees may have decided to fulfill their vows today itself. There was total chaos among the devotees for the darshan of the Goddess. (MR/KS)
