Oxygen shortage claims 24 Covid patients’ lives in a day at Chamarajanagar

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Medical Oxygen, Chamarajanagar, May 3:- At least 24 coronavirus patients being treated at the Chamarajanagar Government District Hospital lost their lives on a single day due to an alleged shortage of Oxygen. On Sunday night (May 2), sixteen patients died while eight more breathed their last in the wee hours of Monday (May 3).

As soon as the people came to know of the shocking development, the relatives of the deceased rushed to the Government District Hospital and staged a protest for not saving the patients’ lives.

Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar and District in-charge Minister S Suresh Kumar on Monday visited the District Hospital in Chamarajanagar and inspected the medical facilities provided at the hospital.
Meanwhile, taking serious note of the incident, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has called for a meeting of the Cabinet at 4 pm on Tuesday (May 4) to discuss the issue of oxygen shortage in the state.
