Prime News, National, Karnataka, Water, Politics, Health, Disease, Children, Mysuru, January 14:- Bharatiya Janata Party MLC A H Vishwanath has been appointed as a member of the administrative board of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). On Friday (January 14), he went to the KSOU office and took charge in the presence of KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof R Rajanna.
Speaking to the media later, he said, “Many universities have been entangled in many problems. We will be discussing many issues concerning academics and move forward.”
Vishwanath said, “The state government needs to take a lot of steps to improve education. Fee structure seems to be a costly affair for middle-class families. This issue will be taken up in the days to come.”
On Covid-19 situation, the MLC said, “The number of cases is increasing and children are taking the brunt. There is no vaccine for children right now. I advise the government to suspend physical classes and conduct online classes. Physical classes can be held for SSLC and Second year PU students. Discuss with experts before making a decision.”
He said, “Lockdown in the entire state is not advisable. Strict measures can be taken in districts where the coronavirus cases are more. Weekend curfew is turning out to be a waste.”
On Mekedatu padayatra by Congress, the veteran leader said, “Rallies will not solve the problem. We have to fight the case legally. If Janardhan Reddy was jailed, it was because of the law and not because of Siddaramaiah’s padayatra.” (MR/KS)
