Prime News, National (New Delhi), August 21:- Pakistan commando, who captured and tortured Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman when his IAF jet crashed in Pakistani territory in February, has been reportedly killed in firing by Indian forces along the Line of Control.

According to reports, Ahmed Khan of the Pakistan Army’s Special Service Group was killed by the Indian Army in Nakyal sector of the LoC on August 17 when he was trying to facilitate more infiltrators into India.

In the photos that were earlier released by Pakistan after Abhinandan’s capture on February 27, Khan can be seen behind the IAF officer. Abhinandan was captured after his MiG 21 was shot down by Pakistani forces while he went chasing after a Pakistani jet in the aftermath of the Balakot airstrike. Abhinandan shot down a Pakistan F-16 near the Line of Control and landed on the Pakistan side. He was then apprehended by the officials of the Pakistani Army on the same day and taken into custody.

The fighter pilot had sustained a rib fracture, a back contusion and some bruises after he was allegedly attacked by locals in PoK. Abhinandan returned to India on March 1. He was in Pakistani custody for two days.

After returning and completing the medical procedure, although he was sent on sick leave for four weeks, he joined his squadron in Srinagar. Abhinandan was awarded the Vir Chakra on Independence Day. (MR, Inputs: Agencies).
