Mysuru, September 7:- A Village Panchayat (VP) secretary was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while receiving a bribe here on Thursday.
Marappa, secretary of Siddalingapura VP is the man making the news. He allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000 from Sheelavathi of Belavatta for completing the pending works. Sheelavathi complained to the ACB and the trap was laid. Accordingly, Sheelavathi went to the village panchayat office and offered the bribe to Marappa. ACB sleuths who were there pounced on the secretary and arrested him. ACB officials are questioning Marappa under 07/17 u/s 7 PC Act. (MR/KS).
