Panchayat workers stage protest over demands

Mysuru, May 30:- Karnataka Village Panchayat Labours Association staged a protest march from Basaveshwara Circle to zilla panchayat office on Wednesday to press home some of their demands.

“More than 800 labours in the district are not added to EFMS. They are not getting a salary from the government. Though there is an order to pay their salaries in the tax collected by the village panchayats, they are torturing the labours without paying salary and violating the government order. The pending salaries from the past one year should be paid immediately. Retired labours should be offered a pension,” said state secretary of the labours association, TS Dinesh.

President KS Basavaraj, treasurer Lokesh and others were present. (MR/KS).
