Mysuru, May 24:- Four hoblis in Periyapatna taluk are likely to see a spike in coronavirus cases and we need to take all steps to make them pandemic-free. The survey of all the houses in the taluk should be over by May 31. I will make surprise visits to these hoblis after June 1, said District In-charge Minister S T Somashekar here on Sunday (May 23).
He was on a visit to the Primary Health Centres in Periyapatna and Hunsur Assembly constituencies.
He said, “Bylakuppe is reporting more Covid cases and as there is a threat of spread, we are planning to declare complete lockdown there. All the essential commodities should be made available to the local people.”
Somashekar said, “There is no scarcity of vaccines and medicines. All four hoblis should be vaccinated completely. After Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha took charge as task force president, there was no shortage of medicine or oxygen cylinders. For the survey, utilise the services of accredited social health activist (ASHA) workers and provide them with all the basic needs.”
During his visit to the Covid care centres, the minister listened to the patients and gave some suggestions to medical officers who accompanied him.
MLAs K Mahadev, H P Manjunath, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer A M Yogish, Mysuru district Superintendent of Police C B Ryshyanth, Tahsildar Basavaraju Chandramouli, taluk medical officer Dr Sharath Babu, chief medical officer Dr J Srinivas and Dr Devika were present. (MR/GK)
