Mysuru, February 2:- A special lecture on ‘Voting for strong India’ was organised at Sri Nataraja Residential First Grade College (FGC) for Women’ here on Thursday.
“We select our representatives through elections. The participation of voters is important to make the electoral process success. Ours is a parliamentary model where the legislature, executive and judiciary work hand-in- hand. Everything remains transparent in democracy. Elections are required to strengthen the democracy. We have been witnessing changes in electoral process in India over the years,” said A N Rajeshwari, lecturer of Maharani Arts College for Women.
“The participation of women should increase in politics. Their role should be made better in active politics. Voting of youths is important to bring in more transparency. There are many challenges in front of us. If youths actively participate in elections, then the dream of building a strong India will come true,” she added.
Principal of the college Dr M Sharada, HoD of Political Science Department Shwetha Shree, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) convener N G Lokesh and others were present. (MR/SH).
