Mysuru, August 29:- “For the overall development of the state, our party workers have to work to take the state and central government programmes to the public,” said new state president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nalin Kumar Kateel.
He was speaking at a meeting held at the BJP office in the city on Wednesday.
“I have come to this level by working as a party worker. We need the support of the party workers of the districts to strengthen the party from the grassroots level. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led state government has come to power two months ago. Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government has come to power for the second term. The development works are taking place at a rapid speed in the country in the past 5 years. BJP has to win 150 seats in the next state Assembly elections and for that, we have to start working,” he said.
“I have become the state president of the party when and we have BJP governments at both state and centre. I have the challenge of taking the government projects to the doorsteps of the public. I will tour the entire state to strengthen the party. I have come to Mysuru to offer prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari. I have also met and sought blessings from seers Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt and Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt,” he added.
Kateel was accorded a grand welcome to the city by BJP leaders and workers. BJP city president Dr Manjunath BH, Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha, MLA L Nagendra, Niranjan Kumar, M Shivanna, HV Rajeev, former MLC Go Madhusudan, Sandesh Swamy, Rajendra, Arun Kumar and others were present.
