Passenger Amenities Committee inspects facilities at Mysuru Railway Station

PAC wants more women security staff to be deployed at Mysuru Railway Station

Mysuru, February 25:- Passengers Amenities Committee (PAC) under the Railway Ministry on Monday visited Mysuru Railway Station here and inspected the facilities provided to the passengers.

The committee comprising the president and four members visited waiting rooms, ticket counters, pay and use toilets and parking lot facilities, escalators and lifts, security, food stalls and other facilities. The committee expressed its happiness over the cleanliness at the station.

The committee interacted with the passengers and collected their opinions. The committee said that importance should be given to women safety and opined more women security staff should be recruited. The committee also insisted on installing baggage scanners and metal detectors at the entrance of the railway station but it is not effective as the railway station has many entrances.

The committee discussed with the South Western Railway (SWR) Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Aparna Garg. She said that IRCTC has failed to set up food plaza at the railway station and the station doesn’t have catering service for the entire day. She stressed that it is causing trouble for the passengers. The committee considered this and assured to discuss it with higher officials.

The committee also inspected Srirangapattana Railway Station.
