Patient dies of excessive anaesthesia; action sought against doctor

Mysuru, June 17:- P V Mukesh, a newspaper distributor of Kushalnagar said that his son Bupen (8), who was admitted to Cauvery heart and multi speciality hospital due to kidney problem had died due to excessive anaesthesia. He urged for action against those who are responsible for his death.

He was addressing a press meet at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.

“My son was admitted to hospital for a simple surgery on March 3. Prior to the surgery, Dr G R Chandrasekhar and 2 other doctors said him to be ok after primary check up. He was then taken to operation theatre. He didn’t get back his consciousness even after hours of the surgery. He died of excessive anaesthesia. The doctors tried to close the issue by offering us money and tried to scare us. I filed a complaint at Alanahalli police station, but no action has been taken yet,” he added. He said that the family would stage protest in front of the commissioner’s office if action wasn’t taken.
