Mysuru, May 25:- The ‘contract’ pourakarmikas of all the districts staged a protest against the state government for not keeping up its word.
President of the committee N Mara said the state government had decided to make all the contract pourakarmikas as permanent employees, but there has been no efforts to implement it. The chief minister says to media that the problem will be solved, but he keeps inactive when it comes to execution. “If the government doesn’t fulfill the demands within 15 days, pourakarmikas throughout the state will stop ‘cleaning’ works from June 12.”
The procession which commenced at Town Hall, passed through Sayyaji Rao Road, D Devaraja Urs Road and culminated at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum to the DC. Thousands of pourakarmikas participated in the procession.
