Mysuru, May 7:- “1,04,000 people are getting pensions under Sandhya Suraksha scheme, Indira Gandhi old-age pension, physically challenged pension, Manaswini scheme pension. Due to various reasons, pension of 19,000 people has been stopped temporarily and the details have to be reverified to restart it,” said MLA S A Ramadass on Wednesday.
He was speaking to elderly people who were worried over not getting pension.
“Many people are coming to Mini Vidhana Soudha saying they have not received pensions for several months. I have listened to their problems and brought this to the notice of tahsildar and concerned officials. Many illiterate people have not submitted required documents in time which has resulted in the cancellation of pension. I have requested the officials to get this solved as soon as possible,” he said while speaking to media persons.
“It is important to visit the houses of 19,000 people of all 65 Wards of Mysuru City Corporation and collect the required information to restart their pension. I have instructed the Tahsildar to appoint one employee of the Revenue Department to collect details. I have discussed with the Deputy Commissioner and he has already appointed operators for this purpose,” he said.
The MLA also requested the public to not to go to taluk office amid the coronavirus pandemic. (MR/KS)
