Mysuru, May 13:- Apurva Sneha Balaga, Lions Club Nisarga and Lions Club Mayuri, in association with Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital, held free health camp for more than 300 people to mark World Mother’s Day at Sri Kanaka Mandir at Janata Nagar in the city on Sunday.
“Mother earth, cow, river and mother are highly valued in Hindu tradition. Mother’s Day is not just for the sake of celebrating. Whatever we may become in life, for mother, we are children. It is unfortunate that people spend more time with cell phones than their parents. If we spend time with them and talk to them every day, they will live for 100 years without any problem. What is the purpose of folding hands in front of God if we send our parents to old age homes?” MLA L Nagendra asked.
“Younger generation has to quit western culture. We can achieve anything if we are healthy. Veda and Ayurveda have information about good health. Senior citizens have to undergo medical checkup regularly. Every student should become a graduate as education gives better knowledge,” said social worker Raghuram Vajapayee.
