Mysuru, June 17:- “International Day of Yoga was being observed in the heritage city Mysuru every year at Mysuru Palace premises and Mysore Race Course since 6 years. The event held last year created a world record. We had planned to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Yoga Day in 2020. But coronavirus pandemic has affected all our plans this year. We have dropped these plans and Mysuru Yoga Federation and yoga institutions have decided to hold the event virtually,” said MLA S A Ramadass at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.
“Practice yoga on the terrace of your homes with family members from 7 am to 7:45 am on June 21 to mark the International Day of Yoga. Children, pregnant women and elderly people should stay inside homes. Brochures and videos will be sent to for everyone to rehearse. The live programme will be streamed on Facebook pages and news channels,” he added.
“Wear white T-shirts and black cotton pants while performing yoga. Click the photos during the yoga day and send it to www.yoga.ayush.gov.in to reach more people,” he said.
Srihari of GSS Yoga Foundation, Ravishankar, B P Murthy, Shashikumar and others were present. (MR/KS)
