The commissioner’s clarification comes in the wake of media reports on the letter (sent through post) written by Venkataramana to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Palace Security where he has started that he was not aware of the fact that photography inside the ornate halls was banned.

M Venkataramana, alias Venky, a resident of Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, has said that the photographs were taken to showcase his art and not for any commercial purpose. Venkataramana owns Photriya Photography and is at the centre of the controversy. He shot the pictures of Adithya and The commissioner’s clarification comes in the wake of media reports on the letter (sent through post) written by Venkataramana to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Palace Security where he has started that he was not aware of the fact that photography inside the ornate halls was banned. Adithya is a son of former bureaucrat  B G Nandakumar and Navyatha is a daughter of an IPS officer from Andhra Pradesh.

The commissioner has stated that the investigation was headed by DCP Dr H T Shekhar and Venkataramana’s statement before the officer regarding the case was authentic. “The statement that has been sent to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Palace Security through post and which was published in the media is not authentic,” the commissioner has stated.
