Planning needed

With continuous three days holidays combined with festivals lead to increased traffic in the Mysuru city and traffic jams became an order of the day, especially in the heart of the city. This may continue in the coming days with Dasara fast approaching and from September to December of this year there are several long weekends, with Mondays as closed holidays with one or the other reason. This may add to the existing traffic issues.  Hence, as an alternate to reduce the rush at the city center, vehicular movement on Sayyaji Rao Road from Sanskruta Patasala to KR Hospital, on Albert Victor road from Harding circle to the KR Circle (excepting KSRTC city services), on DD Urs road from KR circle to at least Raymonds shop area may be restricted on experimental basis on 11th and 12th September. If it works out, it may be extended during Dasara and subsequent holidays. Public may be informed in advance to take alternate route on these days. This will also help obstacle free movement of tourists and citizens during the busy days to walk around the attractions and to do shopping without the fear of traffic congestion. For elderly and physically challenged people, battery operated vehicles may be tried during these days. Hope, concerned officials may look into the possibility of implementing this plan.
