Plantation drive by Karnataka Parisara Jagruti Vedike

“It is important to pay attention towards environment which is gradually moving towards catastrophe and this can be done by creating awareness towards nature,” opined Annayya, a Congress leader. He was speaking after attending the ‘Jaga Nimdu, Gida Namdu’ plantation drive at Alanahalli Government School, recently.

He said that one should start doing his bit to save the nature instead of just giving lectures about it. “Instead of planting trees on both sides of the roads one can plant it in the gardens and the extension areas. By doing this, one can save the trees from destruction during the developmental works and by doing this we can also encourage greenery which is very essential for the protection of nature.”

Karnataka Parisara Jagruti Vedike president T Mahadevaswamy said that one must make children develop love for nature to make tomorrow a better one. JDS leader M B Nayak, who was present on the occasion, appreciated the organization for planting trees every week and create awareness among the children regarding the importance of trees.

Retired police Rajanna, members of the organization and others were present.
