We should understand the concept of green and plant more saplings as much as possible said environmentalist Saalumarada Thimmakka.
A city based non-profit organization Namaste Mysuru launched their organization by planting saplings at Roopanagar. Renowned environmentalist and recipient of various awards Saalumarada Thimmakka gave launch to the organization and also inaugurated the initiative of creating mini forest zone area at Roopanagar. Speaking after inauguration Saalumarada Thimmakka said, “The only request I make to the society is to plant saplings and look them like your children. Instead of chopping them for vested interest we should plant more saplings that will help to come out with more green cover.
Reacting to Chamundi hill issue Thimmakka said, “I Oppose the proposed development works atop hill, it’s high time to preserve our nature. Goddess Chamundi- the deity of region and Chamundi hills are the main attraction of the mysuru, we should not allow any development works instead need to make it more green.” She added.
Speaking on the occasion Member of Namaste Mysuru Lohitt Urs said, “With the help of residents and other members of the region we have initiated to create mini forest zone in the region planting hundreds of saplings. We have approached Madhav Ullal an expert in plants who is guiding us in selecting places scientifically to plant trees, in coming years more such programmes will be launched.”
Members of Namaste Mysuru Mukund, Sudheer, Sadashiv Poojary, Harish Babu and residents of roopanagar were present.
