Mysuru, March 10:- The much-awaited Padma Shri recipient Dr S L Bhyrappa’s famous novel ‘Parva’ will be staged as a play on March 12, 13 and 14. To be directed by actor-director Prakash Belavadi, the play will be formally inaugurated by Dr Bhyrappa, said Rangayana director Adyanda C Cariappa here on Wednesday (March 10).
Talking at a press conference organised at Rangayanna, Cariappa said, “The play, spread over seven hours and 30 minutes, is a unique experiment, considering we are staging Dr Bhyrappa’s famous novel. Some 12 senior artistes along with 25 others and 10 technical experts have made a thorough and in-depth study of the novel. International fashion designer Prasad Bidappa and Sankeerthi Ipanchiguli have joined hands for costumes. The stage has been designed by famed H K Dwarakananth. Ravi Mooruru has scored the music. Pramila Bengre is the stage director.”
The Rangayana director said, “The play is scheduled to start at 10 am on March 12, 13 and 14. There will be three tea breaks of 10 minutes each and a 30-minute lunch break. The play will get over at 6.30 pm. Arrangements have been made for tea, coffee and refreshments. The 70% of the tickets for the play has already been sold and those interested may buy the tickets online.”
