Plea to clear encroachment of graveyard

Mysuru, May 30:- Adi Karnataka Mahasamsthe of Ashokapuram has urged the authorities to clear the encroachment on Harijana graveyard at Gowrishankar Nagar near Panchagavi Mutt on Nanjanagudu road.

“16.35 acres of land in survey number 103 and 104 were taken over by MUDA in 1969 for Harijana graveyard. It was handed over to MCC in 1993. Many people have encroached this land. Shantharaju of Dalita Welfare Trust said that Bouddha Vihara can be constructed in that land. It is his personal opinion and we don’t agree with him. The encroachment should be cleared immediately and the land be given for graveyard. Or else, we will protest,” said the president of the organisation Vijay Kumar at a press meet on Wednesday.

Mahalingappa, Gangadhar, Mahadev, Shivaprasad and others were present. (KMR).
