Mysuru, December 4:- “To protect the Constitution, democracy and secularism, we will stage a statewide campaign ahead of Lok Sabha elections,” said state president of Progressive Thinkers’ Association K C Puttasiddashetty at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club here on Monday.
“Dalits, working class and minorities will take part in the campaign to create awareness against the caste-based politics of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Lok Sabha elections should be faced under the leadership of former chief minister Siddaramaiah. To avoid splitting of votes, a grand alliance should be formed with the guidance of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and led by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu. We are taking a team to New Delhi and meet party leader Sonia Gandhi,” he added.
“We welcome the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, but BJP should not see it as an election-based issue as the temple is a sensitive issue,” Puttarangashetty added.
