Mysuru, May 21:- District Kannada Chaluvaligarara Sangha has urged the state government to hand over the investigation of Jubilant Generics in Nanjangud to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The pharmaceutical company is accused of spreading coronavirus in Mysuru district, though indirectly.
President of the organisation, BA Shivashankar was speaking at a press meet held on Facebook live of Mysuru Press Club on Thursday. He congratulated the district administration for controlling coronavirus spread in the district.
“Though a senior IAS officer Harsh Gupta was appointed to investigate the issue, the investigation has not been successful. Owner of the factory who hails from Gujarat succeeded in misleading the investigation. We had requested the Chief Minister on April 21 to hand over this issue to CBI,” he said.
“P-52 has been giving false information regarding the coronavirus. The administration of the factory should undergo a lie detector test to know the truth. The factory, saying it would adopt 10 villages and distribute 50,000 ration kits is not acceptable. This will harm the self-esteem of Nanjangud. Jubilant Generics factory issue should be investigated by CBI,” he added.
