Mysuru, April 29:- Samyukta Karnataka Auto Drivers and Owners’ Association and private vehicle drivers met District in-charge Minister S T Somashekar and requested him to provide help to their families.
“The entire nation is locked down to fight coronavirus. We respect the decision of the government and accept it. Drivers and labourers have been staying at home since lockdown without any income. But they have to pay for milk, groceries and medicines. Some of them having heart, kidney and liver-related issues. Their condition is worsening day by day. We request the government to help these people in need,” said state president of Karnataka Kavalu Pade, M Mohan Kumar after handing over the request letter to the minister.
He said that the organisation has requested the government to provide Rs 15,000 to each of these drivers in the form of a loan.
