Mysuru, December 3:- Former president of FKCCI, Sudhakar Shetty has opined that the government should name the Mysuru Airport after Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar who governed the princely state of Mysuru from 1941 to 1947 and contributed a lot for the formation of Karnataka.
In his letter to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Shetty has written that the king involved himself in the activities of Nataka Academy, Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Indian wildlife and music. He said that the king was awarded four honorary doctorate by various universities for his social contributions.
He urged the government to name Mysuru Airport after Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar to remember his contributions. (MR/GK)
