Mysuru, July 10:- The Union of High School Teachers has urged the state government to release the withheld salaries of high school teachers of schools having below average results at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Monday.
“A new education policy is required for the overall change in education quality. The decision of the education department has harmed the teachers. We don’t know whether this decision has come to the notice of the state government or not,” said the state president of the association K C Puttasiddashetty.
He urged re-implementing of education policy of primary from 1-5, 6-8 and higher high school from 9-12.
He urged the government to simplify guest teachers’ appointment and make them permanent in one month. He warned of intense protest if the demands are not fulfilled.
The office-bearers of the union K Shivanna, S K Nanjappa, C S Vasudevamurthy and others were present. (MR/KMR).
