Prime News, National, Police, New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 31:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (July 31) said development and welfare will play key roles in maintaining internal security.
Stating that the financial digital frauds are posing a major challenge to the authorities, he asked the young police officers to find new and innovative solutions to contain the financial frauds.
Interacting virtually with the Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister asked the IPS probationers to take interest to focus on police reforms and fitness in the entire force during the coming days.
Modi said development and welfare activities will play a key role in internal security besides strategy and tact.
“When a country takes the swift road towards development, internal and external challenges come up. Thus, it is a challenge for you to make policing better. It is a challenge for you to stop crime using modern techniques, especially in cybersecurity,” said the Prime Minister.
Modi said the negative perception of police in the common citizen is a massive challenge. “At the beginning of COVID, this perception had changed a little because the police were helping the poor and needy. However, the perception has returned to negative. It is the responsibility of the new generation of police to ensure that this perception changes,” he opined.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of State (Home) Nityanand Rai were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister interacted with IPS probationers from cadres belonging to various States including Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on the occasion. (Inputs: Agencies, NGB)
