PM Modi chairs meet on future of CBSE Class 12 exams

Prime News, National, Education, New Delhi, May 25:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Monday (May 24) to deliberate on the future of CBSE Class 12 exams.

The meeting was called by Modi after Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ invited ‘detailed suggestions’ from the States on the issue of conducting exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the options left for the government to organise the exams. Modi was also briefed about the extensive consultations done with teachers and parents by the ministers and officials.

The Prime Minister said that the government has to make a decision taking in mind the present safety and security of the children as well as their future prospects.

The Centre had on Sunday (May 23) convened a high level meeting to discuss CBSE Class 12 exams and other upcoming entrance tests.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has said that there is a broad consensus among States about conducting CBSE Class 12 exams and an informed and collaborative decision will be taken by June 1. All States are expected to give their detailed suggestions on the issue by Tuesday (May 25). (Inputs: Agencies, NGB)
