Prime News, National, Chennai, May 28:- South mega-star Rajinikanth today confirmed that he would attend Narendra Modi’s oath ceremony as Prime Minister on Thursday and called him a “charismatic leader” like “Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi.”
Both Rajinikanth and another actor-turned-politician, Kamal Haasan, have been invited to the oath ceremony where Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time after his Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition won a massive victory in the national elections.
While Kamal Haasan’s party made its electoral debut this Lok Sabha polls, Rajinikanth is yet to formalise his December 2017 announcement on taking the political plunge.
Rajinikanth, whom PM Modi had met in the past, had in December 2017 announced that he will indeed float a party that would contest from all the 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu.
The next election in Tamil Nadu is in 2021. (MR, Inputs: Agencies)
