Poets meet has a message to convey

A whole new world of poetic jargon was formed in the Jaganmohan Palace as  poets from various parts of the state took part in the Dasara Poets’ meet held on Saturday.

The two-day Mysuru Dasara Kavighosti (Poets’ meet) organised by the Mysuru Dasara Kavighosti Sub-committee on Saturday created a poetic environment in the city.  The theme of the poets meet on the second day was ‘Equality and Harmony’ where over 34 noted and emerging poets from across the state exchanged their ideas through their poems on the occasion. On second day of the poets’ meet, Dr Muktumbi M started the event by reciting a poem titled ‘Sundara Baduku’. Later, Chandrakala Bidari from Kalburgi, Indumati Lamani, Mariyappa Natekar and others recited their poems which expressed the present scenario of the society.

The main attraction of the second day poets’ meet was poems in Urdu, Are language,Tulu, Kodava were also presented by poets Mohammada Yousuf Raheem, Geetha Mondatka, Muddumoodu Belle, Nagesh Kaaluru.

Noted writer Dr H S Venkateshamurthy, Filmmaker and writer Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, poet Lalitha Siddabasavaiah presided over the Poets’ meet.

Deputy Special officer of the Dasara poets’ meet Sub-committee Somashekhar S J, working president of the sub-committee Dr Neelagiri Talvar, secretary Manjunath and others were present.
