Mysuru,July 30:-The timely coordination between Mysuru City Police and an Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) helped in busting a prostitution racket which were run at two separate massage parlours in the city.
On a tip off from Odanadi Seva Samsthe, the police swung into action on Saturday and conducted a raid at two separate massage parlours here on Sunday, one at Hootagalli and another near Abhishek Circle in Hebbal and rescued seven girls engaged in prostitution ring.
With this, the city police have now busted more than six prostitution rackets in July at various locations in the city.
According to police sources, Sanjana alias Hemavathi, a native of Mandya is said to be the kingpin of the prostitution racket who pushed poor and orphaned girls into flesh trade.
“The accused woman wanted to lead a luxurious life and was behind making money at a young age. She ran the prostitution racket in the name of a massage parlour and spa,” said a police source.
Police recovered at least 20 mobile phones and lots of SIM cards, seized three two-wheelers and a four-wheeler from the accused.
It is alleged that the police during the raids recovered a diary from the massage parlour where it was mentioned that few policemen were also been paid at regular intervals to avoid getting caught. -KK
