Police raid brothel houses in Mysuru; 8 people arrested

Mysuru, September 27:- Mysuru City Crime Branch (CCB) Police on Wednesday raided a house at Kanakadasa Nagar in Kuvempunagar Police Station limits in connection with prostitution racket and arrested five people.

The arrested have been identified as Lakshmi, 40 of Kanakadasa Nagar, Suresh, 40 of Theerthahalli, Vishwanath, 29 of Theerthahalli, Syed Tausif, 28 and Jaffer Sharif, 28,also a resident of Sathagalli. The police have also recovered Rs 7,080 in cash, a two-wheeler, and five cell phones and rescued two women.

Kuvempunagar Police have registered a complaint. The raid was carried out by CCB ACP B R Lingappa, Inspector M C Rajashekhar, ASI S C Javaregowda, L Subhash Chandra and staff N Joseph Noronha, V A Madhu, P Kumar, Manjula, S M Veena and Shailesh.

In another case, the police raided a house near Bhairaveshwara Education Institution at Vijayanagar in the city and arrested three people.

Geetha, 30 of Vidyaranyapuram, Krishna Naik, 25 of Jayapura Hobli and Shivaaraj, 23 of Jayapura Hobli have been taken into custody. The police have recovered Rs 1,900 in cash, two cell phones and rescued two women.

Lakshmi and Yashawanth were luring customers to their rented house through Geetha.
