Police refuse permission for celebrations in Mysuru

Mysuru, August 5:- The local BJP unit had planned a mega celebration to mark ‘Bhumi Pujan’ at Ayodhya for the construction of Ram Temple but they have been advised by the police not to go ahead with their plan.

Related to Modi’s foundation-laying ceremony, the Bharatiya Janata Party workers had put up flexes in front of its office. But looking at the sensitivity of the situation, Lakshmipuram Police advised the BJP leaders to remove the flexes. As a precautionary measure, Section 144 has been imposed in the city. In this backdrop, police advised BJP workers to shelve their plans.

There were also plans to show the events happening in Ayodhya live on LED screens in the city. Ram Bhajans and special puja had also been planned. The police department has refused permission for any celebrations in the city.  (MR/KS)
