Mysuru, September 3:-The counting for 65 Wards of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) started at 8 am at Mahararani Commerce and Management College for Women on Valmiki Road in the city on Monday amid tight security.
The fate of candidates from major political parties – Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (Secular) and the independents who contested the August 31 MCC elections will be decided today.
13 Returning Officers are in-charge of the counting process and 65 tables have been placed for counting and three persons have been assigned for each table.
Nearly a thousand persons have been deputed for the counting process and the results of all the 65 MCC Wards is likely to be announced by this afternoon. Meanwhile, a traffic ban has been imposed around Maharani College of Commerce and Management from 6 am today till the counting of votes is completed.
