Postal campaign for Film City in Mysuru

Mysuru, August 10:- Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike members staged a postal campaign in front of Jaganmohan Palace here on Thursday, urging the government to start Film City in Mysuru.

The protest comes in the wake of the government planning to shift the project to Ramanagara.

Members of the organisation sent symbolic request letters to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda and Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh.

M D Parthasarathy of Vishnu Abhimani Balaga said that the Film City was announced in Mysuru three years ago and is yet to take shape for varied reasons.

“We are requesting Kumaraswamy to establish the Film City in the city. Mysuru has more than 250 tourism places. Moreover, Mysuru is the birthplace of legendary actors Vishnuvardhan, Ashwath and legendary director Puttanna Kanagal. Actors of the younger generation Darshan, Yash also hail from Mysuru. If the film city is established in Mysuru, it would further boost tourism and employment,” he added.

Vikram Iyengar of KMPK Trust, Ajay Shastry, Yoga Narasimha, H N Sridhar Murthy, Kumar Gowda, Rajesh, Raghunandan, Vinay Kanagal, Jayasimha, Nishant and others were present. (MR/KS).
