Mysuru, June 08:- Demanding to make contract civic workers job permanent a huge protest rally will be held in-front of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) premises said President of Safai Karmachari Hitarakshana Vedike President M V Venkatesh.
Addressing a press meet here in the city on Thursday Venkatesh said, “The state led congress government in their election manifesto had announced that they would make the contract workers jobs permanent if they come to power. But the government which has completed four years in the state has failed to address the needs to civic workers. Even today Pourakarmikas are forced to do manual scavenging in the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home district which shows the sad state of civic workers.”
“During the congress government tenure atleast seven pourkamikas have lost their lives and till date no relief funds have been sanctioned by the government. In this background members of the vedike will stage a huge protest demanding to fulfill various needs in-front of MCC on June 12th,” he added.
Hunsur town municipality member K Lakshman, Contract workers association president N Narasimha, Secretary R Vijay, Dharmaraju and others were present.
