Mysuru, September 10:- Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike is opposing Bharat bandh called by the Congress on Monday (today). They visited the shops at Agrahara on Sunday and requested them to not close their shops. The shop owners were greeted with roses.
“Farmers and merchants depend on their day-to-day sales. Now the festivals are also nearing. Calling for a bandh at around this time is not right. This will affect the poor people, students and daily wagers. Shops should remain throughout the day to oppose the bandh,” said senior artist Mike Chandru.
“When a bandh was called to demand farm loan waiver, the state government had commented that such a move would be of no use. Instead of taking measures to reduce the tax on fuel, the state government is encouraging bandh,” alleged K M Nishant from Agrahara.
Nagabhushan, Jayasimha, Parashivamurthy, Pramodh Gowda, Ranganath, Aruna, T S Srinivas, and others were present. (MR/KS).
