Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike’s initiative on avoiding chain-snatching

Mysuru, May 8:- Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike of the city held an initiative to create awareness on chain-snatching which has hit the city hard in the recent past. The demonstration was held in front of Bhima Jewellers on D Devaraja Urs Road here on Tuesday.

As people gathered in large numbers to buy gold on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the Vedike volunteers requested the people to be careful and not to show off their ornaments in public as it would be a welcome call for the chain-snatchers. They also requested the people to cooperate with the police.

Social worker Raghuram Vajapayee distributed pamphlets to people on dos and don’ts.

Gubbigudu Ramesh, MD Parthasarathy, BSP city president Basavaraj, Lakshmidevi, Harish Naidu, Kumar Gowda, Sandesh Pawar and others were present. (MR/KS).
