Prasiddhi Bhat does the city proud in chess

City based Prasiddhi Bhat of Acharya Vidya Kula clinched the Karnataka State Un­der-11 Girls Chess Champi­onship-2016 held at YMCA International Centre, Ben­galuru recently.

With a half point ahead of other players she scored 7.5 points out of 9 rounds to gain her maiden title. Prasid­dhi trained at Mysore Chess Center is the daughter of Ra­jendra Prasad Bhat and Vani Bhat. She will represent Kar­nataka state in the National Under- 11 Girls Champion­ship to be held in Raipur from June 28 to July 6. Nagendra Muralidhar, Vice President of United Karnataka Chess As­sociation, Suresh S, Direc­tor of Mysore Chess Centre congratulated her achieve­ment. Sanjana Raghunath of Bengaluru, Ananya Arum­bakkam of Bengaluru, Span­dana M Raikar of Shimoga and Eshanvi M N of Mysuru were placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.
