Indian women’s cricket team wins millions of fans

Mysuru, July 24:- Indian eves may lost the final battle to England in the women’s cricket World Cup narrowly on Sunday but there is no denying the fact that they won more than a million fans, thanks to their stupendous effort in England.

Prior to the final on Sunday, Cycle Pure Agarbathies had organised  a special prayer to wish the Indian team good luck. Though India lost the encounter by nine runs, they had a point to drive. Winning or losing is part of a game but the spirit with which the game is played is what matters in the end.

At a time when there are no takers for women’s cricket, likes of team captain Mithali Raj, Harmanpreete Kaur and our own Veda Krishnamurthy showed women are no less compared to men in sport.

Cricketer Vanitha D R inaugurated the campaign by lighting six-feet long incense stick at the premises of Kote Anjaneya temple.

“Cricket has united the country. In India cricket is not just a sport but a religion. The performance of the team has been special and the support for the team continues,” she said.

“It’s a proud moment finals. The prayer for India campaign is aimed at uniting cricket fans of Mysuru,” said CEO of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, Arjun Ranga. (MR/KS).
