Mysuru, December 3:- A six-month pregnant woman allegedly died at Narayana Multi-speciality Hospital due to the negligence of the doctors, complain her family members.
The deceased has been identified as Sneha (23), a resident of Mandya. She was admitted to the hospital on October 30 due to a severe cough and was treated for more than one month.
Subsequently, the woman had a forced abortion and the doctors informed her parents that the baby had died in the womb itself. Sneha too died after a few hours later. The hospital gave a whopping bill of Rs 25 lakh for the treatment and have not even allowed the family to shift her to any other hospital, said the family members. They urged the police to take action against the doctors.
“Sneha was admitted to our hospital 36 days ago. She was suffering from pneumonia. She was recovering after treatment. Her lungs were bleeding. This is a very rare case which appears only among three patients in a hundred. It has no treatment. We have tried our best to save her and the child. But we could not save them. Our doctors have not done any mistake,” said medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Dileep.
Sneha is said to have written a letter to her family members when she was in ICU, saying she is healthy and will be back home soon. (MR/KS)
