Mysuru, June 22:- The District Administration has decided to organise Kempegowda Jayanti in a meaningful way in association with various organisations on June 27.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Zilla Panchayat Hall in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner T Yogesh on Thursday afternoon.
“The meeting could not be organised earlier as election code of conduct was in place. Though we don’t have much time, the officials and the administration are confident and Kempegowda Jayanti will be held without problems,” the ADC said.
“Stage programme will be held at 11 am at Kalamandir. Floral tributes will be paid to the image of Kempegowda. Dr P K Rajashekhar will deliver a special lecture. A procession will be held from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to Kalamandir. Various art forms will be present in the procession,” he informed.
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KaSaPa) president Dr Y D Rajanna, assistant director of Kannada and Culture Department H Chennappa, Ravishankar, M B Vishwanath and others were present. (MR/KS).
